(The Effectiveness of Using the Snakes and Ladders Game in Arabic Vocabulary Mastery: An Experimental Study)

This study aims to reveal the implementation of vocabulary teaching using the Snakes and Ladders game in grade IV of Islamic Primary School Ruhama and to determine the effectiveness of using the Snakes and Ladders game in teaching vocabulary. This study is a quantitative study using an experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study consisted of 52 fourth-grade students, divided equally between the experimental and control groups (26 students). The researcher conducted a post-test on both groups. This study produced several findings: 1) The post-test results in the experimental group obtained an average of 31.9, while the control group obtained an average of 23.5. There is a difference in the average learning outcomes of students between the experimental group and the control group. 2) From the average results, there is a difference in the level of vocabulary mastery between students who use the Snakes and Ladders game and students who do not use the game. 3) The sig value (2-tailed) is 0.001. This value is less than 0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the results of vocabulary mastery using the Snakes and Ladders game increased significantly. The results of the N-Gain test indicated that the effectiveness fell into the moderate category, with a value of 0.53. In conclusion, the use of the Snakes and Ladders game in vocabulary mastery was effective, with a moderate level of effectiveness.
